We know that the PS Vita will no longer have your store taken offline this month, but what no one has thought to ask is: will new games keep being added? We hear rumors that will no longer appear after July 20.

If this turns out to be true, it will be a chance for Russian metro dogs. Ooriginally released in 2018 for PC, It managed a brief Kotaku mention when it was announced a few years ago, and turned out to be a decent, if very odd, game. It was a single screen arcade game inspired by the real life of stray dogs living in the Moscow metro. It’s about being one of those dogs and trying to stay alive. Now, another three years later, it’s coming to consoles. Except, no new ones. Instead, it’s on Xbox One, PS4, and … PS Vita.

Developer Miguel Sternberg rushed to complete the Vita port when he first heard rumors that Sony stores were shutting down in 2021, and while that didn’t happen, if July marks the last chance to launch something new he just creaked at in time.

Rather than being a Stuntman, it seems Vita has always been a platform Sternberg wanted to see the game played on. It’s his favorite handheld, and porting has been planned since 2015. “It’s really a passion project,” he tells us in an email., “rather than a good business decision”.

It obviously makes perfect sense that no new game is coming to a platform that has almost lost its ability to buy games. It seems fitting, if it turns out to be the case, that one of his latest came from a developer who cared so much about the handheld.
