Madden NFL 22 trailer reveals franchise mode improvements

In a new video, Electronic Arts revealed information about Madden NFL 22franchise mode. The mode will give players better access to all coaching staff, from the head coach to offensive and defensive coordinators, and player staff. This year’s game will even have an RPG-style talent tree system, allowing for a greater ability to tailor the franchise staff to the player’s specific style. Using the talent tree system will require personnel points. Staff points are earned each week through various in-game achievements. There will apparently be 60 talents to choose from when the game launches, with more to be released later.

Weekly strategy will play a big part in franchise mode, forcing players to consider several factors including fatigue levels, intensity of each workout, and more. Players will also have new tools to assess half-time performance, allowing them to make larger adjustments to improve performance.

In addition to these changes in the coaching staff, players can expect to see big changes in the recruiting system. The teams will have national and regional scouts. Throughout the season, players will move up and down the draft board. EA plans to release its revised search feature in September, and more information is expected to be revealed ahead of launch.

Franchise mode will also feature 35 different scenarios that can be played at launch, with more to come throughout the season. These give players new choices that impact the way things play out throughout the season.

Overall, this looks like a very promising new take on franchise mode! One of the most common complaints about last year’s game was that it was too similar to previous offerings. From what we can tell from the video, the franchise mode in Madden NFL 22 looks like an important start, but it remains to be seen what fans will think of this year’s game.

Madden NFL 22 will be released on August 21 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PC. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the game here.
